Media and Information Literacy in the age of infodemic: Lessons learned from Covid-19 pandemic

by Olunifesi Suraj (PhD)

Lesson1: Always read the content rather than making judgement based on the headlines.

Lesson2: Everybody is entitled to his own opinion. It is a fundamental human right.

Lesson3: Always consider alternative narratives that is not a popular opinion. They may be the missing link.

Lesson 4: There is nothing called nonsense. It is just senmatics. What is nonsense to you is a sense to somebody. Remove the "non" from the nonsense, you have the "sense".

Lession 5: media pluralism and alternative narratives is a way to go. It is the beauty of democracy and well being of a pluralistic society.

Lesson 6: Don't always be sentimental on issues. Information is meant to be processed and not to be discarded.
