2016/2017 Students' Admission

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following two (2) year FULL TIME programmes of study at the Digital Bridge Institute Kano, for the 2016/2017 Academic Session:

1)  NATIONAL INNOVATIVE DIPLOMA (NID) COURSES

1. Telecommunications Technology
2. Multimedia Technology
3. Networking and System Security
4. Computer Software Engineering
5. Computer Hardware Engineering

The National Innovative Diploma programme which is equivalent to the National Diploma (ND) is an approved programme of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). Upon completion of the programme, successful students can apply for Direct Entry into any University for further studies in their chosen field/discipline.

2) THE DIGITAL BRIDGE INSTITUTE (DBI)

DBI is a specialized institution committed to the creation of a knowledge-based information society in Nigeria, through human capacity building in Telecommunications and Information & Communications Technology (ICT). Established by the Nigerian Communications Commission in 2004 with its main campus/learning center in Abuja, DBI has regional centers in Lagos, Kano, Enugu, Yola and Asaba.

The Institute is supported by a strong faculty from academia and industry that brings passion, commitment and expertise to the delivery of every course.  The faculty leverages our unmatched modern facilities to offer cutting edge solutions to the education and training needs of its students in ICT and Telecoms related areas.

The Institute’s facilities which include fully equipped training rooms, multi-media teaching aids, video conference facilities, WiFi Hotspot, a Technology Laboratories, Workshops and Digital Resource Library guarantee a cutting-edge learning experience.

DBI is an approved Innovation Enterprise Institution by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), an accredited Centre of Excellence by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) as well as ICT Sector Member of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO).

3) ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The minimum entry requirements for the NID programmes are specified below

1. A minimum of five (5) Credit Passes at WAEC/SSCE, NECO, GCE and NABTEB in not more than two (2) sittings, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other Science subject
2. Applicants should have written and passed the 2016/2017 UTME.

4) DBI DIPLOMA / CERTIFICATION PROGRAMME

This is a fast-track programme for students who are not able to gain admission into the mainstream NID programme due to deficiency in entry requirements. The programme will prepare candidates to obtain the minimum admission requirements for the NID and pursue an IT Certification programme if they so desire.
